Why We Started Serve Society

Padel gave us something we didn't expect. Serve Society is our way of giving it back — starting with what you wear on court.

Keagan West

Founder of Serve Society. Padel player, coach, and community builder.

It started with a conversation.

Not a business plan. Not a market analysis. Just two people talking about something they both cared about — padel, and the feeling that something was missing from it.

My partner Simone came to me with the idea. She knew how deep I'd fallen into the sport, and she brought the side I didn't have — an eye for design, a feel for fashion, and the instinct that padel deserved better than what was out there. Between the two of us, Serve Society started taking shape over late-night conversations long before it ever became a brand.

The gap nobody was filling

If you play padel in South Africa, you already know the problem. Walk into any shop or scroll any store and what do you find? Football apparel repackaged. Tennis gear with a different label. Big-name brands like Nike and Adidas making great products — but none of them built specifically for padel, and none of them speaking to the culture growing around it.

Padel isn't tennis. It isn't football. It has its own energy, its own community, its own identity. But when it came to what you wore on court, there was nothing that reflected that. No brand built from inside the sport, for the people actually playing it.

That's the gap. And that's where Serve Society lives.

More than a sport

I need to be honest about what padel has done for me personally, because it's the reason this brand exists.

I come from a triathlon background. I've tried a lot of sports over the years — some stuck, most didn't. For about eight years, nothing really grabbed me the way competition used to. Then I picked up a padel racket, and something clicked.

It wasn't just the game itself — it was everything around it. The people I've met through padel are some of the most genuine connections I've made in years. The community is different. There's something about stepping on court with someone that strips away the noise and just lets you compete, laugh, and push each other.

That's what I want to protect. That feeling. And I want to see how far I can take it — both as a player and as someone building something around the sport.

What Serve Society stands for

We're not trying to be another generic sportswear label. Every piece we make is designed specifically for padel — the performance, the fit, the feel. But it has to look right too. Premium on court, comfortable off it. Something you're proud to wear whether you're playing a tournament or grabbing coffee after a session.

More than the product, though, this is a community brand. Serve Society exists because of the people on court — the ones showing up to social sessions, grinding through coaching clinics, and building something together without even realising it. The product is how we show up. The community is why we exist.

Where we're going

This is just the start. The Core Performance Tee is our first step, but it won't be our last. We're building Serve Society into a brand that grows alongside the padel community in South Africa — new products, events, sessions, and experiences that bring people closer to the sport and to each other.

We want you to be part of it. Not just as a customer, but as a member of something that's being built from the ground up — by people who play, for people who play.

Welcome to the Society.
